J-jo is 19 months.
Aside from the usual (see most recent Tot Shelves post for reference), J-jo is currently working very hard on learning to use the potty. It is slow going, but I feel we have turned a corner.
He spent quite some time with the Lauri Toys Number Express
. He likes to pull the numbers out. Isn't so good at putting them back in.
He likes to stack the pegs.
He likes to stack the pegs.
I love to see the two of them working independently side by side. Bear is doing cut and paste work and J-jo is playing with play dough. (Prior to him getting out the play dough, I was attempting to teach him to use scissors, but although he appears interested he is far from ready.)
Then he decided to draw.
I set up this table in the kitchen for more messy practical life activities like spooning flour. He decided it looked like his teething medicine (chamomile powder - don't ask, it's from Costa Rica) and just wanted to eat it so in the end this particular activity got removed.
His pouring of beans is also here.
J-jo's favorite thing is to kick or throw balls, bean bags, balloons... he's pretty good at keeping the kicking and throwing to these items. I don't remember Bear being so delighted by it. He will entertain himself with a balloon for a long time, giggling away as it moves in unexpected ways.
This afternoon I reorganized the play room and school room. I took photos just now but will write a second post to show you.

Looks like a fun week! They are so cute working side by side! : ) I love your little pitchers for the beans, they look so manageable for little ones!
