On our Tot Shelves

Transferring heart "jewels" (actually table scatter from Target dollar spot).  Bear usesongs and J-jo the spoon.
From left to right : a glimpse of the shape sorter, lacing beads, matching cars to Mickey cards.
One to one transfer of rubber pompoms into spaces in container (Target dollar spot), rings on horizontal post, matching buttons to the strip of colored circles (can you tell I'm working colors with J-jo?).
Valentine sensory container, cotton swabs in tiny opening (idea from Chasing Cheerios) and spools on a dowel.
A close-up view of the sensory bin: heart container and purple hearts from Target, foam hearts from Walmart last year.  A spoon for spooning into the container.  It's a simple one, set in a smaller container (a washed take-out container from our Chinese New Year supper).
You can see other ideas for sensory bins at Homeschool Mo.  She is hosting a link up for the month of February if you would like to add your bin.
I also have not put out yet, but will rotate in throughout the week,  lining up buttons on popsicle sticks,
one to one transfer of buttons into a heart silicone mold (although I may replace the buttons with the purple heart jewels),
and sliding foam hearts into a container, which are all from last year (when I did not have a good camera for taking low lighting shots).

  2. I'm doing colors with G too. He's good at matching and tries to say the color words but can't or won't sort multiple objects into color-coded jars. I like the idea for lining buttons up on craft sticks. I think I will try that! Thanks for posting!

  6. great ideas. I wish my guy would stop putting things in his mouth. I want to do sensory stuff but after he ate a battery I'm afraid of another foreign object swallowing.
