The Hundred Board Resources

Although Bear is too young for most of these resources, I think they might benefit some of my readers with older children.

  • Math wire has Hundred Board puzzles.  Some of these might work for Bear after a month or so of playing with our magnetic hundred board.
  • This Teachers net lesson plan has lots of great games to play with your hundred board.  I especially like the game to practice rounding and the Tens and Ones bingo.  I think Bear and I would be able to play Keep Picking soon.
  • Mrs. Meacham's Classroom Snapshots has an idea for pictures using the hundred board.  You say a prompt (like 3+5) and the child colors the correct square.  After all the prompts, the colored squares make a picture.  She has sample prompts to download.  I think this could be adapted for Bear by simply calling out the numbers for her to find and color.  I will be downloading one of the samples as soon as I finish this post :-P
  • Math Wire also has an arrow game to play on the hundred board.
  • Let's Play Math has a VERY comprehensive list of things to do with a hundred board.
  • Of course, you can just remove numbers on a filled in number board (or cover up the numbers) and having the child figure out which numbers are missing.

  1. Great list. I will bookmark this post for future reference. Anna can do 100 board, she just finds it deathly boring. I will share our own version of "Race to 100" shortly.
