Art Materials Storage - The Art Caddy and the Paint kit

I thought I would be able to put the art supplies in the new school room, but after some thought, I decided that it worked best to have the supplies in the kitchen.  We just tend to paint in the kitchen.  I had a cleaning caddy that wasn't being used, so I moved our supplies to it - Dollar store shaving cream, Colorations liquid watercolors and tempera paints (from Discount School supply), sponges, paintbrushes, solid watercolor paint sets.  The paper is in the playroom, which is next to the kitchen.  Our big paper is still upstairs in the school room, but I plan on moving half of it downstairs.

This next idea came from somewhere, but I can't remember.  Perhaps it was the Playful Learning Spaces e-course I took in the fall. In a zippered pouch, I put a watercolor painting kit that we often take outdoors for nature painting.  Watercolor pencils, a water brush, a pencil or two, an eraser, a thin Sharpie, and a bit of sponge for cleaning the water brush all fit nicely inside the pouch.  A watercolor pad is kept with the pouch and whenever the mood strikes, we can set out to paint.  It's easy to carry along on hikes, too.  Our water brushes are from JoAnn's (cheaper than at Michaels) and were found in the Scrapbooking section.
