Tot School

J-jo will be 22 months tomorrow.

Practical Life
Cutting play dough.  We made a new rainbow batch last week.
Peeling and slicing hard boiled eggs (he won't eat them though).

Sensorial
We added the blue aquarium rocks from the Galapagos sensory tray into the sandbox.
 They look like pretty jewels.
 So we started jewel mining.
Well, Bear did most of the mining (sifting).
While J-jo did most of the carting away.

ABC and 123
We continued with reading picture books to go with the Sound Box books.
Here are some of the picture book titles we've used:

H - Hungry Hen
I - Inch by Inch
J - Jack's Garden and Jump! (2 books with the same title actually)
K - Koala Lou

For numbers, I just make sure to count all the time with him, for example, "Here are your crackers.  One cracker, two crackers, three crackers!" or "Let's count the stairs! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc....

 Art
I did SO much more art with Bear at this age, so I am tried hard this week to incorporate more art explorations.
 Fly swatter painting.
In the photo below he is using one of those dollar store magic wands made from foam.
Marble rolling.  (Dip marble in paint, let it roll on the paper you've put at the bottom of a tray or recycled box.)

Imaginative Play
Trains and cars are his favorite.  He also plays in the toy kitchen, making tea and soup to feed stuffed animals and dolls.  And Bear has him playing doctor quite a lot.
