Back when we started learning about Paul Klee, I mentioned that we had done three works of art based on his work. Bear's third and last Paul Klee project was based on a painting I can not find online right now. She made a button tree. First she used chalk pastel for the background of the picture. Then she placed liquid watercolor paint at the bottom of her paper and blew through a straw to create a trunk and branches. She needed help with this because she couldn't blow hard enough to get the paint really moving. She told me in which direction to blow and I blew for her. Once it had dried, she glued buttons to the tree branches.
If you've done any art with your child this week based on an artist or illustration style, or taught some of the elements and principles of art, or studied a musician or any other type of artist, please join the Linky. Please remember to link back or grab the button on the side bar.
Regardless of artist link, this is such a great idea for the project, and it looks like Bear really enjoyed it.

ReplyDeleteDuring our study on ponds and amphibians, we did collage art inspired Cathryn Falwell the author of the book "Scoot!" It was very exciting for the children when she came to our blog and actually commented on their art work.
Love to see children exploring their world through art! :)
