It feels like we hardly do art compared to a year ago. Of course, a year ago I didn't have a J-jo crawling and cruising around under my feet, trying to get into everything!
I saw this and was inspired to try it with Bear. We had done a similar art project with paint and contact paper (here and here)
First, cut positive and negative shapes out of contact paper. (I did this step.)
Stick them all over your paper. You can overlap them. (Bear did this step onward.)
Choose an oil pastel and color inside the negative shapes or around the edges of positive shapes. You can change colors anytime.
Take a paper towel and rub your oil pastel to get the colors to blend.
Bear made two of them.
That turned out really neat! I know what you mean. We are just now getting back to doing arts and crafts. It is so much harder with two.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about your prior art projects the other day and wondering how far along Bear must be now with her art :) This is a great project - did the contact paper came off easily from the paper in the end?
ReplyDeleteThe contact paper came off a lot more easily for this project than it did in the past (we've done contact paper projects before).
