This project from The Artful Parent has been on my list of things to try for a long time now. I didn't have any Elmer's Blue Glue, so we just used some Costa Rican brand white glue. It worked okay. It will be interesting to one day try it again with blue glue to see if that works better. You pour glue over your fabric, let dry, then paint with watered down acrylics, let dry, and finally wash with very hot water and let dry. We managed to do all the steps in one day, but only because it is summer and the sun shone hot all day.
We have "silly answers" times too. Usually here it means "leave me alone, mama, I am so not interested!" We have bought Anna a joker hat in IKEA, and I usually tell her, "Oh, are you wearing your joker hat now?" Invariably it makes her giggle and acknowledge that she's been "joking". Toddler humor is quite wearing for adults :)
ReplyDeletethank you for all your ideas! i left you a bloggy award, and then realized you'd already received it, but I think you deserve it again!
ReplyDeleteHi!! I gave you an award on my blog!! Please stop by!!
ReplyDeleteUn abrazo
Oh, hey we could probably do it all in one day here in the summer as well. Okay, that makes this project much more doable......
ReplyDeleteI've left you an award over on my blog.
Hi Okay looks like I'm just following the trend here as I also left you an award on my blog : )
ReplyDeleteAs for the silly answers I'd agree with the first comment. I can tell when L's had enough because she starts sucking her thumb. Then I know not to push her and to move on to something else.
These turned out beautifully! I always enjoy the things you share on your blog. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteOK, this is a good idea, as usual:-), from you!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! And congrats on all these awards you are about to pick up too!
I gave you an award!
ReplyDeleteMust be the day for awards for you! I ALSO gave you an award on my blog.. I am so happy that I came across your blog, I love all of your posts & the ideas it gives me for fun things to do with my son! Thank you!! :)
ReplyDeleteHow funny! I also gave you the Lemonade stand award last week :)
ReplyDeleteI did a similar BATIK project awhile back but did it differently (I think). We did a kangaroo one and am planning to do another one soon with less water to see if that helps the colors show darker. Here's the link to the one we did if you'd like to check it outour version:

I love the artful parent, too. This project turned out great. I will have to give it a shot with my kiddos when it warms up here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
