Advent Day 3 – Hot Apple Cider and Another Christmas Tree Craft

We are on day 3 of Advent, as we start Advent on the 1st Sunday of Advent, not on December 1st.  These posts may not be of interest to anyone, but I need a record of what I am doing so I will remember what worked and didn’t work when I plan next year’s Advent.

Today’s activity card was Make Hot Apple Cider.  I just simmered apple juice with some cinnamon sticks and cloves.  CIMG0178

We also did a size sorting Christmas Tree.  I saw this activity on Making Learning Fun.  However, I am without a printer and thought it would look better on green construction paper anyway, so I just cut out my own ovaloid shapes. Bear never wants to do the size sorting activities I set out for her, so I was delighted when she caught on right away and did the whole thing herself.  I then gave her dot stickers to decorate her tree.  I think that must have been her favorite part.  We counted all the dots as she placed them.  CIMG0167

  2. Juliet never wants to do the size-sorting things either...maybe this cute tree will convince her.

  3. Anna is not a big fan of size sorting either. I'll see if she might be interested in this - thanks for the suggestion!
