Split of the Roman Empire: a simple enough synopsis of the split of the Roman Empire can be found here. As we will be reading SOTW 1, I am not going to go too much in depth with each of the History memory sentences - just enough to gain the minimum background knowledge.
Science:
Invertebrates:
Invertebrate Wheel at Enchanted Learning.
Biology4Kids describes the characteristics of invertebrates. I will read these aloud to Bear and have her narrate back the key components. Biology4Kids also has a page for each of the groups of invertebrates. We will be reading one page of this website per day.
I also found this Invertebrate Challenge (via a Google search that linked straight to the PDF). Bear will complete this after reading through the Biology4Kids website.
There's a "find the invertebrate" worksheet at this link (scroll down to #15 Invertebrates) that both kids will complete, but I will likely have to help J-jo with it.
For J-jo - I will use the cards from the Invertebrate challenge for him to learn the names. We have some plastic invertebrates and I will have a vertebrate/invertebrate sort available for him on the shelf. I've made vertebrate and invertebrate cards in the past and you can find them here.
Bear's done the invertebrate/vertebrate sort multiple times before:) My goal with her is for her to learn the more obscure invertebrates (for which I have no plastic figures!).
Grammar:
See this post for the preposition work we will be doing.
Geography:
Maps are in the Foundations Guide.
What wonderful ideas you have here! So glad I found your blog :)
