The big obsession this week has been to play camping. It is amazing to me how Bear's imaginative play has just exploded. I love the scenarios she comes up with.
We spent a lot of time roasting marshmallows.
You can see we set up a stream that emptied into a lake. Her dad was even more creative and made her a waterfall with one of the scarves when he got home from work one day.
And then, because we had camped for so many days and were running out of clothes, Bear announced she was going to do laundry in the lake. The block is her soap.
Of course after one washes clothes, one has to hang the clothes to dry. So Bear requested I bring in the clothes drying rack in from the garage.
There is our beautiful tent and the picnic we ate. It kind of gets messy when we play pretend, but what a good creative mess it is!

I LOVE it!! This is some of the best kind of learning for a kid! We may have to try camping this week :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Has Bear ever been camping in real life?
ReplyDeleteHow wonderfull!!
ReplyDeleteI am inspired to offer some extended camping fun the next time my boys make a den (which happens almost daily!)
Loving the fire and toasted marsh mallows lol!!
That looks like a lot of fun!
ReplyDelete:) Love camping play :)
ReplyDeleteMy girls are sleeping in a tent in our loungeroom as I type this. We had dinner around our 'camp fire' and made damper (aussie camp food) and just had so much fun :)
What a fun looking day, and how thoughtful to wash all the clothes rather than come home to mum with all the dirty washing LOL
ReplyDeleteI love how you create a playscape for Bear's imagination to unfold. She is so lucky to grow up with such creative mom. I can see that she can probably spend hours playing in her own world.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this is amazing. I love the scene you've created! The fire is awesome and how cute is she wanting to do the laundry.
ReplyDeletePretty good campsite with a clothes-drying rack!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
I love your campsite, what amazing imaginative play - I too would love to know if Bear has really been camping?
ReplyDeleteBear's never been camping. I think she draws her inspiration from the Word World episode "Dog goes Camping" and also from a book we once read (I can't remember the title).
ReplyDeleteThank you every one for your lovely comments.
