J-jo is 10 months
Lots of purposeful play and exploration make up what I call Teeny Tiny Tot School for the sake of the blog; however, this playing just happens throughout the day. I know that with Bear, I wondered what to "play" with her when she was this age. This is why I'm posting some of our purposeful play now and linking to Tot School.
He's fascinated with holes and will sit with Bear's dollhouse long periods of time, putting things through the windows, testing what fits and doesn't.
The table wouldn't fit but he tried a long time.
Another sensory experience. Playing in the sand box for the first time. He really wanted to eat it and kept putting it in his mouth.
Being taken to the "doctor". Bear really enjoys pushing him on the car.
Being a very good patient for Dr. Bear.
I read him Barnyard Dance by Sandra Boynton and brought out the plastic animals as they came up in the story.
I brought these out for the 18 month old at our playdate and J-jo surprised me by being able to lift the pieces by the tiny knobs. He tries to put them back, but can't yet.

Juliette is enjoying many of the things that your little one is too, she is now 11 months old. She just became very interested in the same little people house. She loves putting the people and anything else that she can inside it too :0)
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward getting ideas from your blog for my girls!!
I really likr your idea of btinhing out the animals with the book! I have a large board book that has realistic photos of animals in it and I used to match them up with my daughter and talk about them with her.
ReplyDeleteWe have a similar dollhouse and tons of little people that my 10 month (oh wait...she's 11 months old today!!!) old loves to play with. The thing is, is that it's her 3 year old sisters doll house and she doesn't like to share. I may have to get her her own (her b-day is in a month!).
