Amazing Animals by Design - a TOS review

Amazing Animals by Design by Debra Haagen, our very own TOS crew member, and published by Tate Publishing is a cute story with a big message.  While John and Sarah are at the zoo, they keep hearing the word design and are determined to find out what it is their parents and the zookeeper mean by that word.  They find out that God designed each animal with a specific purpose in mind.

The book is geared to children from pre-K to 3rd grade. Debra, a military wife and homeschooling mom, wrote the book because there were no books available to teach her young children about intelligent design.  She has plans for more books about the subject.

I loved the simple illustrations and learned some new things about the animals at the zoo.  Our kids love the zoo and animals so they enjoyed the book too.

Here's what Bear had to say about it after our first reading: (prompted by a few questions to draw it out of her)
"I like how ostriches could hide in the mud and look like rocks.  I like the elephant. I would want Mommy to read it again because I like it. I like the pictures and I learned new things like zebras walking together look like one whole zebra."

Check out the author's official website where you can see photographs of the animals depicted in Amazing Animals by Design.

You can purchase the 24-page paperback for $8.99 or download the ebook for $7.99. The ebook is a PDF and can be read on most ebook readers.
