-Bear is 25 months-
Alphabet and Literacy:
We started a Great Sort.
Numbers and Other Math Concepts:
Bear placed the correct amount of "apples" on the tree. Then we sang and acted out the song "Farmer John had 5 green apples" except we sang "Farmer Bear had ten red apples."
We also did an activity using prepositional words "put the cube on the cylinder," "put the cylinder on the cube," "put the cube on another cube."
Geography and Culture:
Bear matched animals to continents on her continent map. We also sorted zoo animals from farm animals using her Little People animals (she really wasn't into sorting the animals, but liked putting the animals on the map).

Art:
Bear helped me transfer tiny craft supplies to an old spice rack. She loved transferring the tiny objects (beads, buttons, etc) to the new jars and putting the jars into the slots. She does this with the Pringles containers at the checkout at the grocery store too!
Bear also continued working on buttoning. She started with a zipper dressing frame this week too, as well as folding washcloths.
To see what others are doing in Tot School, see here.
Great idea to use an old spice rack to store tiny craft supplies!
ReplyDeleteThats a good idea to put the pictures on a bigger sheet of paper for her to cut out! I might try that with Pufferfish... she is dying to try scissors!
ReplyDeleteI love the ant game :) You have such fun ideas.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun! I am amazed that she can match animals to continents! What a smart little girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun week of learning! Love your activities!
ReplyDeleteI love the recipe in her play kitchen, and the sorts look like a lot of fun and learning at the same time!
ReplyDeleteI love all your ideas! I think I'll have to try the feeding ant activity next.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great site!!! I signed up to "follow" your blog. You have a lot of great ideas :) I will post more about my music classes every week...at least that's the plan. I get the majority of the instruments for the kids off amazon
ReplyDeleteYou have definitely got a smart little girl on your hands! I love the recipe idea for the play kitchen. My Littlest Apple loves to pretend to bake cookies and muffins, so I'm definitely going to try this idea! Thanks again for sharing your scissor tricks....we're going to be using that tip soon at our house!
ReplyDeleteYou always have such a fantastic mixture of hands-on activities with academic skills. Bear is a lucky (and smart) little girl to grow up in your house.
