Behind our house there is a lot of corn growing.
Yesterday, we took a walk through the corn and the man who owns the corn offered to give us some.
We brought it home.
Bear counted it (there were 8).
She husked it (well, Mommy did most of it).
She carried it inside (it was heavy).
Then she washed it
and she put it in the pot,
which I then put on the stove.
And since two of the ears of corn weren't ready for eating,
we painted them
and rolled them
to make an interesting print
and incredibly yellow hands!

Oh how fun! I never have thought to paint with corn! I will have to put this on my TO-DO list!
ReplyDeleteFun! We are big corn lovers (and corn helpers) here too, but we never painted with corn.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun experience. Now I want a corn field to walk through. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNow that is cool! My kids would love this. You guys must live in fun area with lots of land to run around and play on. Oh how fun that would be. My parents have land in the "country" and the kids LOVE going to play there when we can!!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun and educational activity. You do some of the neatest things.
Thank you so much for linking up and sharing!
When I taught pre-K we did corn prints/painting every year. The kids loved it!
ReplyDeleteLove your pic collage. Too cute!
Your pic collage is great. The hands on activities your children did sound fun! We hope to do some corn activities in November.
