Bear started violin lessons on Saturday and spent most of the lesson learning the parts of her violin. As I sat there, participating in her lesson, I couldn't help but think that this would make such a perfect Montessori activity.
I made up the violin nomenclature cards for Bear. If you print these out, you will need to color in the part listed and add the bridge and button yourself as the drawing I found did not include these parts. I have only made the parts that Bear has learned so far and will be making more cards as she learns more parts.
I'm linking up to The Preschool Corner.
as well as

It's pretty neat that Bear will learn an instrument so early. I don't play anything, so it's more up to my husband to provide music instruction, and he hasn't been up to the task so far :)
ReplyDeleteYou have made me the HAPPIEST person EVER!
ReplyDeleteOur daughter starts violin lessons in 3 weeks - we just picked up her violin.
This is PERFECT!
Thanks again! (hugs)

I just kinda sorta made some for numbers.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny each time I say I'm not Montessori, I find something else about it I do like (the nomenclature cards).
Cool! I'd love to hear more about Bear's violin lessons. What type of method is she studying?
ReplyDeleteThe violin must be so tiny and adorable!!
Thanks for sharing :-)
ReplyDeleteHow cool! I'd love to have Robbie taking lessons. Unfortunately, we live in the boonies and would have to drive at least an hour each way for lessons. As a musician (yeah, I can play more instruments than the electric bass and more styles than rock), I've debated about simply teaching him myself for now. You've made me start thinking about it again.
ReplyDeleteBear is learning the violin at age 3?!!! We want our son to learn as well (Even have a 1/4-size violin for him already... or maybe its a 1/8? I have to check)
ReplyDeleteBut I thought he was too young. Where did you find a teacher to teach so early?
Very nice! Good luck to bear on her lessons. Violins make such lovely music.
ReplyDeleteI linked to this post in my blog post today!
