Take a pile of coins.
Start sorting them.
Realize you have State quarters.
Do lots of matching.

This is a brilliant idea. I need to look through my quarters to make sure I keep the one with states.

I love your use of quarters and mixing it with geography! Definitely filing that one away for when we look at the states more in depth!

We use state quarters in our geography studies too!

I love the state quarters. I'm slowly becoming less enthralled as I'm trying to teach my kid about the different coins and having to explain the different backs. That's not so fun.

I love your use of materials! When I saw this post, it just occurred to me that I should add state quarters to my geography-postcard album.

Oh, you are too smart and creative to come up with this idea! I love this! Joe has been obsessed with money the last couple weeks and again, you've given me a wonderful idea--thank you:-).

I love your activity for matching state quarters and states! State quarters are fascinating, and this is such a simple yet effective way to introduce state map shapes and the state quarters. I featured your photo and post at http://livingmontessorinow.com/2011/06/30/montessori-inspired-patriotic-unit/

Found you via Deb Chitwood! I am going to try this with my daughter next week. I love this idea of matching the quarters and the cards! I hope you will come share this awesome post at a link sharing party I have up right now (http://ow.ly/5utpd). We also have prizes but I know the main incentive for us bloggers is to share great ideas!

Love this idea! WE have a state quarter collection and I think it would be fun to do this with our big USA map next week for Government week!

Thanks for linking up and sharing : )
