Bear is starting to be really into writing and drawing as she nears her third birthday.
She can write her name on her own, but writes it so big it takes two chalkboards.
Our method of practicing penmanship is for her to write, wet erase and then dry erase.
She's starting to do more representational drawings, although she'll do one really great one, then not draw for a few days, as if that one drawing took everything out of her.
After looking at this Ed Emberley book, Bear drew an owl on her own.

It's a little hard to see as she used pencil.  I wrote the words and then she traced over them.

Her handwriting is nice! I haven't done handwriting practice with her so her handwriting is pretty sad these days.

Thanks Joyful Learner! She hasn't practiced that much. But I've noticed her tracing letters a lot in storybooks when she's "reading" to herself. I'm sure that's helped.

I love Ed Emberly. I wish our local library had some of his books.

She's advanced; impressive!

It's nice that Bear wants to write letters. Anna has a blackboard too, but she only wanted to use it once. I can definitely see an owl in Bear's picture.
