Tree Hugging Tots - The Moon

The theme this week for Tree Hugging Tots was The Moon.

Bear and I watched a couple of Youtube videos that showed the phases of the moon.

My mom had sent us a Power Point slide show of moons ages ago and I searched through my inbox to find it. It had beautiful pictures of the moon. I pointed out craters to Bear and talked about the surface of the moon.

We made moon craters by dropping rocks (meteorites) in a styrofoam tray of flour (the moon).
I found songs about the planets and the moon here and here, but we didn't end up singing them.

We would have gone outside to look at the moon. Unfortunately, rainy season means that the sky is usually covered in the evenings.

  1. I have a feeling making craters is going to be a popular activity in this week's Tree Hugging Tots! Sorry you weren't able to see the moon.

  2. Cute videos. I might watch them with Anna if she shows any enthusiasm to learn more about the Moon. She wasn't too interested so far. I think after this short space detour we are going back to human body.
