stART - Little Blue and Little Yellow

I absolutely love the book Little Blue and Little Yellow. I just wonder why there isn't one called Little Blue and Little Red, or Little Yellow and Little Red for that matter.
I love that they hug to become green.
I love that they are sad and cry.

We've read this book numerous times and are always renewing it at the library. I don't know why I don't just buy it.

We've done color mixing before, but this time, as we did it, we talked about Little Blue and Little Yellow. We tried to get the tissue paper to hug and become green, but the tissue paper wouldn't cooperate, so we got out some paint instead and mixed blue and yellow.

Check out other great stART projects here.

  1. oo I think I check this book out from the library too :) colouring mixing is something I've been meaning to introduce to my daughter, and this is a great way!

  5. I just got that book from our library a week or so ago. I really, really liked it, but I took it back without reading it to M because he is so sensitive about others being sad, he can not read a book or be told a story about anyone being sad or we have an out and out crying fest on our hands. Sigh. It is a great book, and I hope *some* day we'll be able to read it to him! Love your artwork!

  7. We had this book too, but Anna preferred Mouse Paint. She didn't like the part where parents didn't recognize their children. I admit that I find it weird too :) But the color mixing is great - we did ours a week ago with colored water and had a lot of fun.
