Warning: Do not use salt tray if you or your child have any cuts on your hands! Use cornmeal, flour, or sand instead.
So easy, so fast. So fun. For about 5 minutes. "All done," says Bear. Oh well, eventually she will enjoy writing out letters, numbers, and words on it.
Good warning. We did this with cornmeal and rice flour (ground coarser than the wheat flour we had). Emma was too young to want to draw letters (haven't tried it recently), but both kids enjoyed mixing the colors of the two flours at the beginning and playing in it with forks and other utensils. I've been tempted to do something like this, but keep thinking of the mess it's bound to make. I will have to get my nerve up and just do it - it really does look like fun!
ReplyDeleteI loved this so much, RockerTot did it today. Thanks for the idea! I never seem to have extra rice and RockerDad said no to the shaving cream. Salt was a great alternative and RockerTot loved it!!
ReplyDeleteGood warning! I didn't think about it before and always considered salt the best medium for such activities. Too bad that Bear didn't last long - I don't think Anna would either :)
