Bear's Art Space

This is Bear's art table. (And yes, those are cement blocks, leftover from our house construction, holding up her table surface! I figure, that way, the table can grow with her - I just have to add blocks!) We keep colored pencils, washable markers, and crayons out at all times. Bear has some shelves to the left of the table where she can reach paper, glue, scissors, collage material, and her playdough. I don't keep paint accessible; maybe when she's three I will, but I'm not ready yet:) I have my own art/sewing table too, so Bear can work on her art and I can work on my art simultaneously.

  1. Wow! I am not brave enough to let Meghan have access to any coloring utensil.

  2. I second that fear. RockerDad would never let me hear the end of it if we had crayon on the walls. I think it's great that you can do that for her. I look forward to the day that I can do that for my boy (both a readiness and a space factor for us).

  3. Love the art table. We were just talking last night about finding an art area for our 21 month old. I am a bit afraid of the free access to crayons, but I'd love to try.
